Eagle Scout Candidate earns union busting merit badge
This project was proposed prior to the former steel city prior to them announcing they were going to have to lay off 39 town employees and the Scout has logged over 200 hours to date. Suddenly the SEIU decided they had to step in and protect their "employees". The head thug of the SEIU local declared that he is for biding any volunteer work in town that should be done by a union employee.
Balzano, the SEIU's enforcer in the Allentown local further infuriated people when he announced at a council meeting “We’ll be looking into the Cub Scout or Boy Scout who did the trails.”
Assert union authority over the town and then intimidate a boy scout.
And now the part the main stream media hasn't told you about:
The SEIU head thug and 7 of his knuckle draggers resigned under pressure from the national syndicate. It seems in light of the videos (an impending trials) of several SEIU thugs at TEA parties and counter-protesting at congressional open houses the union HQ thought the union telling a town and it's citizens what they can't do with their own property is a bit over the top. But to backhandedly threaten an Eagle Scout candidate? Pennsylvania's unemployment rate just went up by 8 thugs.
SCORE:
Eagle Scout Candidate: 1
SEIU Thugs: -8
Do they have a merit badge for union busting?

Want me to tell you what you can do with your tinfoil hat?

Actually I called it twice: October 4th and November 2.
If only I could pick the games in the football pool like this. I even got the over/under by naming Norcross (who holds the purse strings of the NJDSC).
Imagine having a candidate so weak you have to bankroll a third party "independent" candidate. But if you want to do this again I have some pointers for you:
- Don't have him just attack the other candidate without having a platform of his own, it is so obvious the most myoptic and clueless of voters could see it.
- Don't have your usual sycophantic supporters, the media outlets, endorse your trojan horse candidate over your real one.
- When conducting push polls, don't hyperinflate the trojan horse's rating. Rasmussen had him at 11 max, two weeks ago, so creating the Eagleton/Star Ledger poll was farcical.
- But the most important thing for Democrats (or Republicans) who plan on running a trojan horse campaign again is simply this: DON'T!
Not only is it disingenuous, you now have given fodder for the Republicans in 2010, which includes every Congressional District, to use in their campaign. Additionally you risk alienating Democrat party donors who would rather have seen their money going to support their own candidate, not the "Independent" candidate.
If you want to win why not try running a candidate that will win, instead of having to create the illusion of a viable third party candidate designed solely to draw the "anybody but Corzine" vote away from Christie?
Of course the worst part about this whole affair is that any future third party candidate will be under additional scrutiny and accused of being a trojan horse whether it is true or not. And that truly sucks as the hold the Democrats and GOP have over politics warrants RICO charges.

Just in case you didn't hear me the first time

- He is not independent... he is a left leaning moderate. Who officiated in the left leaning DEP and EPA. Even when Reagan was in office the EPA was comprised of leftards. Plus he espouses the myth of global warming... he is a liberal.
- Someone is bankrolling him. And while he has called on his opponents to list their contributors, the quantities donated and their relationship he has failed to do the same... although he has reluctantly admitted to getting a large amount of support from "outside the state."
- I hypothesize, although have no direct proof, that he is being funded by George Norcross. For those not educated in NJ politics he is the biggest Democrat power broker in the state and runs the party from Trenton to the tip of Cape May. Norcross is also the guy who is calling for the ouster of Richard Codey as the President of the (state) Senate. Codey was the most competent head of state NJ has had since Tom Kean and Norcross wants him out so he can get one of his boys in. Why?
- The NJ election is about more than who will be living in Drumthwacket for the next four years. Obama has been burning his political currency faster than Corzine has been spending his personal fortune to get this seat for the Democrats. And for two reasons, the first is so a Democrat wins and this election can be spun to support Obama's Presidency to date. But more importantly, and as I have indicated in a previous rant, it is about the 2010 census. In New Jersey the Governor (directly and indirectly) and the head of the State Senate determine 9 of the 13 seats for redistricting if NJ loses, as anticipated, a seat to the US House of Representatives. Norcross wants to make sure the districts his boys sit in are maintained or strengthened and to make sure a GOP deat is properly gerrymandering out of existence. If this occurs Norcross gets more power locally and nationally with the DNC, and Obama gets one less GOP Congressman to deal with... a win win.
So while I am the first who would vote for a solid conservative candidate that was neither Democrat or Republican, Dagget is playing the spoiler. But unlike Ross Perot who assisted Bill Clinton in his two victories, he is being funded to deliberately to assist in a Corzine victory.
I have had enough of corruption in NJ politics as it costs us tax dollars. But a vote for Daggett is a vote for Corzine. And regardless of your politics I can respect no one who votes for that man.

That evil, rotten, dirty Christopher Columbus

Our newest crop of "educators" have begun introducing their version of reality in describing the man who we recognize the second monday of every October as being the man who started European exploration and settlement of the land to be known as The Americas.
They tell their students how mean and bossy he was. They point out how he stole indigenous people's property, wealth and land. They point out how the trade routes he established brought diseases from Europe that the indigenous people had no defenses against and killed large numbers of the natives.
I am not going to debate whether their new take on facts is factual or not. I will not get drawn into arguing minutiae such as this and ignoring the root cause of the problem.
Changing perspectives of historical figures, even iconic ones, are a normal part of a society maturing. But to focus on the bad and ignoring, or downplaying, the possitive accomplishments does not serve Columbus, history, or our future.
Rather this is a coordinated effort by the left to serve their ideological agenda and does not belong in the classroom. The left are masters at revision of history, since their ideology has not basis for supprt other than their belief in it they cannot allow things such as facts, historical or otherwise, get in the way of them forwarding ti at all costs.
To address them revising the history of Columbus is to get lost in the noise, the issue is they are altering the history of America. And it works on two levels, one is to further their tactic of race politics, playing one race against another, in this case it is every one against the Europeans. The other, and more insidious part of their agenda, concerns rewriting the istory of America.
The left is following the standard marxist revolutionary playbook page by page. Destroy religion, destroy the family unit, sow mistrust between neighbors, and promote individualism and the importance of self, while downplaying self reliance. This serves to make reliance on the state the strongest relationship in an individual's life.
A key to getting this done is through indoctrination... such as is occurring in schools every day. In this case the indoctrination by historical revisionism and villifying a national icon.
The left is using the schools as a weapon against the country. And if allowed to go unchecked our most valuable resource, our future generations, will be lost.
Case in point: the elementary school class cited int he story that held a mock trial and sentenced Columbus to life in prison for his "crimes".

B. Hussein Obama, Nobel Laureate

I had to do my basic research on the matter, because I had not felt that Obama had done much for peace in his first 262 days in office. By then the facts were already being gathered, for instance the deadline for nominations was February 1, 2009, a mere 10 days after moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
And in fairness perhaps he did something prior to his Presidency to convince the world's self proclaimed arbiters of peace that Obama was their man. He had promised to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, but by the end of the nominating process, and repeatedly before the day his prize was announced, Obama backed off that position.
Obama also announced we were fighting the wrong war in Iraq and that we would pull out of there as soon as the Iraqi government requested we do so. No exactly a ringing endorsement for a prize designating him a peace maker.
There is also the awkward statements he made saying that we need to double down in Afghanistan and consider taking the fight to Al Qaeda and the Taliban hiding in Pakistan. I fail to see how waging one war and indicating plans to escalate it, and announcing a desire to open a third front in the Global War on Man Made Disasters is worthy of a lifetime recognition of a man of peace.
In Obama's speech this morning even he expressed his surprise at winning, not to mention winning this award.
So here is the deal.
We know the Nobel prizes are awarded for ideology. The Nobel committee is comprised of one world government Marxists, the awards go to fellow travelers first, and others when there is no like minded alternative.
Obama further said he sees the award as a "call to action."
Call to action? Using that logic lets award the Mets the 2010 World Series now so they feel compelled to win more than 70 games next year.
No. This is not a call to action. This is not an award for peace.
The Nobel Marxist Society gave the award to their poster boy Obama because they know his hubris will not allow his to do the right thing and turn down this undeserved award. It also makes him obligated to push their agenda.
According to Nobelprize.org Obama won the peace prize "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".
To date B.H.O. has been all talk no action, affirming my contention that the award is ideological, not practical. And I thought that the low point in the award's history was given to Al Gore and the IPCC for their roles in raising public awareness to the global scam known as global warming.

Why Corzine will win again. And why (other that the obvious) that it sucks

In the summer Chris Christie held a commanding lead over Jon Corzine, one of the more inept public officials to disgrace the NJ statehouse. But recently the legacy media outlets have marvelled over how Corzine closed the gap to the poll's margin of error. Since most NJ political reporters use the AP wire as their source of information we are treated to the same liberal views repeated ad nauseum, or in those rare cases where actual new writing is taking place it filtered through an editor who is mandated to maintain the MSM liberal skew on the pages.
I feel confident I can say this as not one feature piece has bothered to point out why Corzine will win and we, the taxpayers of New Jersey will lose.
That reason is named Chris Daggett.
"Who?", you ask.
"I don't know!", I respond.
Aside from an August nod from the Sierra Club I can find no discernible notes of interest. But don't let the endorsement of the über-liberal environmental group, or that he worked for Corzine's DEP fool you, much of his career has been spent in the public sector working for Democrats and Republicans alike, usually serving in environment related endeavors.
Don't get me wrong, even I maintain that it is essential that we be good stewards of our environment, just without the confiscatory practices usually endorsed by the Sierra Club.
So how exactly is a Daggett candidacy as an Independent going to get Corzine elected?
In NJ there is about 5,000,000 registered voters.
- 1.8 million Democrats
- 1 million Republicans
- 2.5 million unaffiliated
- 2500 "other"
True to form most registered voters fail to exercise their constitutional right to chose their leaders and stay home the first Tuesday of November, so the number of registered voters pales to actual voters.
In that respect NJ is similar to the nation as a whole with 40% being straight ticket Democrats, 40% being straight ticket Republicans, and roughly 15% pretending not to favor either party while still voting for the party they always do. That leaves us with approximately 5% of the actual voters, which is far less than registered voters and a mere fraction of the state's population being the independents that will have the biggest say in who will be calling Drumthwacket home for the next four years.
Which usually means the Democrats win because, and only because, they have a more organized on the ground effort to get people to vote... namely the unions. Between the AFL-CIO, Teamsters, NJEA and the SEIU they get the votes out by encouraging their members to vote and encouraging their spouses and other family members to vote for their party of choice... the Democrats. Organized labor in NJ has people on their full time payroll cruising blogs, message boards, and related websites to get their message out and to drown out any dissenters. These same people make phone calls to members and their spouses to make sure they know who to vote for.
But 2009 promised to elect another Republican to the statehouse, partially out of contempt for Corzine, who has demonstrated his contempt for us. And partially as backlash for the Democrat debacle in Washington.
But the voters needed to put Christie over the top will be casting their ballots for Daggett as an expression of disgust for both parties... a sentiment I heartily agree with... but not today.
Daggett will play the spoiler, like Ross Perot, splitting the truly non-committed voters, those who would be voting against Corzine, rather than for Christie or Daggett.
And the stakes are real for New Jersey folks. Not only will Corzine continue to tax and spend for four more years, the reason this election is so important, to Obama, the DNC, and the megalomaniac Corzine, is much more important than the state confiscating what the federal government hasn't already taken from our paychecks.
Following the 2010 census there will likely be redistricting in NJ, in part due to a likely loss of a House seat. One of the most important jobs a governor has is to be in office for this redistricting. In NJ the state head of the party to which the Governor belongs gets to appoint 4 of the 13 seats to the "non-partisan" redistricting board and the Governor gets to appoint one "non-partisan" member... and this on top of the 4 members already representing their party assigned by the Assembly and State Senate.
Stacking the deck 9 to 4 could only be considered non-partisan in New Jersey.
So rather then praise Daggett for his attempt at tilting windmills as an unknown candidate content not to publicize his candidacy he should be scorned for contributing to the DNC's effort at permanent control over the US House of Representatives.

And though this may qualify me for a tinfoil hat I would not be surprised if Corzine himself sent a check (or checks) to Daggett for his campaign. I went to Daggett's website to test out my theory since one of the reforms Daggett wants to enact is that candidates publicly post that names of contributors and the dollar amounts. I thought he would have posted it on his website as an example for others, but I was wrong.

Why the Hollywood elite hearts Roman Polanski

By the Hollywood elite running to his defense they may just have finally "jumped the shark", to borrow a Hollywood phrase, as far as their ability to influence people outside of their own elitist sphere of existence.
Now to be fair it is not all of the Hollywood types that have spoken out in favor of the pedophile, but a vast segment of the Hollywood leftard elite have stood up to defend this despicable criminal.

Stench of FAILURE

I further reminded everyone in August during the heat of the health care debacle that Obama had failed.
And once again I am going to remind everyone that B. Hussein failed. He could have avoided this latest failure that he shares with the last Democrat President but, like Clinton, this is a choice of his own doing.
And that we, as Congressman Joe Wilson pointed out, know that Barack Hussein Obama is a liar.
As a matter of fact, he is not only a liar, nor is he a pathological liar... but like Bill Clinton, he chooses to lie when telling the truth is easier and would say more about his character than the litany of lies he is spewing. His default mode is to lie first.B. Hussein's latest lie, provided he hasn't opened his mouth since this morning, was on George Stephanopolis' show. In an interview with George Obama said he wasn't following the ACORN controversy closely.

A man who graduated Harvard law, and was President of the Harvard Law Review, who could have walked into any large law first and collected a low to mid six figure salary, chose to work as a lawyer at a firm who represented ACORN, was the attorney for the Chicago chapter of ACORN and who worked training ACORN members, who paid $800K to ACORN, and was likely elected because of the efforts of ACORN... and he is not following a major news story concerning ACORN? He earned a fraction of what he could earned for decades after law school working for an organization and when a scandal involving it erupts he doesn't pay attention to it.

Friends... I have to throw the bullsh*t flag on this one.

He is lying.
He lied during his campaign, he has been lying since moving to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and he is lying now.
Just as he lied about not following over 1,000,000 people throughout the country for the April 15th TEA parties, or the more than 1,000,000 people in Washington DC (District of Corruption) for the September 12th TEA Party, he is lying about not following the national scandal involving ACORN.
And a bonus for him not to acknowledge... the Miami office of ACORN was raided the day before the first ACORN video appeared on Breitbart and several people arrested for voter fraud.

But the reason Clinton accomplished so little is the same reason Obama, just barely out of the gate, has failed. He lied. Once you lose the trust of the American people a President is a eunuch... impotent.
Obama surrounded himself with tax cheats and abortion supporting Catholics (a/k/a liars). His Chief of Staff is a renowned bully and liar. The head of the EPA, NJ's former head of the DEP is a liar. Obama's key medical advisers support forced abortion and euthanasia... and being doctors that is a violation of their Hippocratic Oath... making them hypocrites... and liars.
Obama, who rode the wave of "hope and change" violated the trust of all who voted for him and proved the rest of us right... that he is not worthy of our trust.

A picture is worth a million people
Compare a picture of the 2009 Presidential Inauguration:

They can deny it all they want, but around one million people, and likely more, showed up in Washington on Labor Day to protest government expansion, overspending, and reducing our liberties by legislative fiat.
A picture is worth a million people
Despite the main stream media's estimate of "tens of thousands" of protesters at the 9/12 TEA Party in Washington DC, there were more. Many more. On the order of hundreds of thousands, not tens of thousands.
Compare a picture of the 2009 Presidential Inauguration:

They can deny it all they want, but around one million people, and likely more, showed up in Washington on Labor Day to protest government expansion, overspending, and reducing our liberties by legislative fiat.

Question: What is DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDR?
Barack Hussein Obama: Lying Arrogant Hypocrite

Wait... did I just say Health Insurance? Yes I did.
If Obama's health plan is so great then all branches of the federal government, and all federal employees, should be forced to receive it, after all, if it is good enough for their parents it should be good enough for them. Arrogant hypocrites.

Take off your beer goggles

I have been fighting bouts of nausea every time I hear yet another leftard pundit or talking head comment on how "smart" a move this was on the part of Obama. And yet they seem to overlook that had he stuck to his TelePrompter there would be no need for a beer summit. He could have sat quietly by as Gates and Crowley slugged it out in court... one suing for false arrest and violation of civil rights, the other counter-suing for slander. The smart money would be backing Crowley.
But Obama, who earned his stripes in Chicago as a community organizer, which also entails race baiting (the class warfare aspect doesn't come into play as Gates earns considerably more than Sgt Crowley), had to comment on the situation. Even though by the time Obama was first asked about it the charges against Gates had been dropped he just couldn't help himself, decades of this response against the police naturally surfaced and even though he freely admitted he did not know the facts he accused the police of acting stupidly. Then a few hours later talked about what a great cop Crowley is.

Shhhh... it's a secret!!!

Well, apparently the media was occupying themselves, and their audiences, with positing that Letterman meant Bristol and not the 14 year old who was with Sarah got "knocked up" instead of telling the American people that the trial of the greatest government employed bribe taker since Bill Clinton had commenced.
On June 16 the United States of America began opening arguments in their seemingly airtight case against William Jefferson. Seems William Jefferson was caught with $90K but had taken over 400 thousand dollars and was demanding millions more to represent African nations in the House. (Coincidentally William Jefferson Clinton -no relation- took over $400K from the Chinese government.)
Today the US Attorney presented closing arguments in the case against the man Nancy Pelosi faithfully supported after getting caught with the $90K in his freezer.
The media is frighteningly silent on this. The First Amendment was designed to protect the free press from the government with one purpose in mind, so the press can keep the people informed about the actions of the government. If the media is failing to keep up their end of the bargain one could successfully argue that they have waived any First Amendment protection.
The media is supposed to keep the citizenry informed, not collude with the government.

White House Press Corps get their collective panties in a knot
Of course the real issue is not that the Press Corps is angered by this practice... it has always been the case, White House policy briefings are always carefully orchestrated. What has gotten their panties twisted so hard is that the White House gave a blogger from HuffPo a special pass to enter the briefing room and ask a question the administration fed to him. And it is not the question being fed to them that upsets them, for that is also White House standard operating procedures... it is that the administration gave equal access to a little known blogger and permitted him to enter their domain without having earned his journalistic stripes.
So while it looks on the surface that the press corps is delivering a "we made you and we can break you" message to the administration, the truth is they were just using the staged and scripted health care reform "town hall" as an excuse to vent their outrage over a member of the "new media" being placed on the same level as the "old guard media".

NYS Democrats: Beneath contempt
The Republican half of the Assembly tried to call order and say the pledge but the Demonrats refused to stand while the Pledge was being spoken.
I give them full credit for not wanting to participate in the meeting (while being paid to be there) but not standing during the Pledge of Allegiance is an act beneath contempt.
I'd be lying to say I'm not envious of New York... while their legislature is at a self imposed standstill they can't be like NJ to raise taxes every time they meet.

American Health Care FACTS
10 Surprising Facts about American Health Care
Tuesday, March 24, 2009by Scott Atlas
Fact No. 1: Americans have better survival rates than Europeans for common cancers.[1] Breast cancer mortality is 52 percent higher in Germany than in the United States, and 88 percent higher in the United Kingdom. Prostate cancer mortality is 604 percent higher in the U.K. and 457 percent higher in Norway. The mortality rate for colorectal cancer among British men and women is about 40 percent higher.
Fact No. 2: Americans have lower cancer mortality rates than Canadians.[2] Breast cancer mortality is 9 percent higher, prostate cancer is 184 percent higher and colon cancer mortality among men is about 10 percent higher than in the United States.
Fact No. 3: Americans have better access to treatment for chronic diseases than patients in other developed countries.[3] Some 56 percent of Americans who could benefit are taking statins, which reduce cholesterol and protect against heart disease. By comparison, of those patients who could benefit from these drugs, only 36 percent of the Dutch, 29 percent of the Swiss, 26 percent of Germans, 23 percent of Britons and 17 percent of Italians receive them.
Fact No. 4: Americans have better access to preventive cancer screening than Canadians.[4] Take the proportion of the appropriate-age population groups who have received recommended tests for breast, cervical, prostate and colon cancer:
- Nine of 10 middle-aged American women (89 percent) have had a mammogram, compared to less than three-fourths of Canadians (72 percent).
- Nearly all American women (96 percent) have had a pap smear, compared to less than 90 percent of Canadians.
- More than half of American men (54 percent) have had a PSA test, compared to less than 1 in 6 Canadians (16 percent).
- Nearly one-third of Americans (30 percent) have had a colonoscopy, compared with less than 1 in 20 Canadians (5 percent).
Fact No. 5: Lower income Americans are in better health than comparable Canadians. Twice as many American seniors with below-median incomes self-report "excellent" health compared to Canadian seniors (11.7 percent versus 5.8 percent). Conversely, white Canadian young adults with below-median incomes are 20 percent more likely than lower income Americans to describe their health as "fair or poor."[5]
Fact No. 6: Americans spend less time waiting for care than patients in Canada and the U.K. Canadian and British patients wait about twice as long - sometimes more than a year - to see a specialist, to have elective surgery like hip replacements or to get radiation treatment for cancer.[6] All told, 827,429 people are waiting for some type of procedure in Canada.[7] In England, nearly 1.8 million people are waiting for a hospital admission or outpatient treatment.[8]
Fact No. 7: People in countries with more government control of health care are highly dissatisfied and believe reform is needed. More than 70 percent of German, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and British adults say their health system needs either "fundamental change" or "complete rebuilding."[9]
Fact No. 8: Americans are more satisfied with the care they receive than Canadians. When asked about their own health care instead of the "health care system," more than half of Americans (51.3 percent) are very satisfied with their health care services, compared to only 41.5 percent of Canadians; a lower proportion of Americans are dissatisfied (6.8 percent) than Canadians (8.5 percent).[10]
Fact No. 9: Americans have much better access to important new technologies like medical imaging than patients in Canada or the U.K. Maligned as a waste by economists and policymakers naïve to actual medical practice, an overwhelming majority of leading American physicians identified computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the most important medical innovations for improving patient care during the previous decade.[11] [See the table.] The United States has 34 CT scanners per million Americans, compared to 12 in Canada and eight in Britain. The United States has nearly 27 MRI machines per million compared to about 6 per million in Canada and Britain.[12]
Fact No. 10: Americans are responsible for the vast majority of all health care innovations.[13] The top five U.S. hospitals conduct more clinical trials than all the hospitals in any other single developed country.[14] Since the mid-1970s, the Nobel Prize in medicine or physiology has gone to American residents more often than recipients from all other countries combined.[15] In only five of the past 34 years did a scientist living in America not win or share in the prize. Most important recent medical innovations were developed in the United States.[16] [See the table.]
Conclusion. Despite serious challenges, such as escalating costs and the uninsured, the U.S. health care system compares favorably to those in other developed countries.
However, the government is not in control. There is not an omnicient, omnipotent government agency doling out medical services so the leftards won't rest until the gold standard of medical science is reduced to the level of England and Canada where people come to the US for care.
Universal healthcare will not be cheap but the point that cannot be overlooked is that the most expensive cost of the program will be the rationing. During the ABC Obamacare informercial a lady told the story of her 85 year old mother who was denied a pacemaker by medicare and several doctors, eventually they found a doctor who said she had such a "healthy spirit" she woudl eb a good risk for a pace maker and installed it. Obama's response was "we need a more scientific reason that a spirit to determine healthcare."
Since Obama is determined to hitch the nation's economic health to bullshit called global warming, we can be assured he doesn't care one iota about science.
Obamacare is about government control and the corresponding lack of personal freedom.
As an aside... I would be remiss at pointing out that Resident Obama, MD had only 4.7 million viewers... nearly half of those watching the CSI repeat on CBS. And the cable news programs maintained similar numbers to their nightly counts, so not even the Obamatrons staring mouthes agape at Olbermann, Cooper or Grace changed tuned in to Obama. And Obama had a 7.3 million viewer lead in to his infomercial. Too bad he didn't get Billy Mays to pitch it for him.
