Take off your beer goggles


Tonight is the much anticipated "Beer Summit."


I have been fighting bouts of nausea every time I hear yet another leftard pundit or talking head comment on how "smart" a move this was on the part of Obama. And yet they seem to overlook that had he stuck to his TelePrompter there would be no need for a beer summit. He could have sat quietly by as Gates and Crowley slugged it out in court... one suing for false arrest and violation of civil rights, the other counter-suing for slander. The smart money would be backing Crowley.

But just as Gates made the issue one of race instead of thanking the office for quickly responding to the neighbor's report of a burglary the Harvard professor instead made race an issue. And as a professional race baiter he brought Crowley's mother into the argument in an effort to elicit a more visceral response from the seasoned police office.

Instead Gates was disappointed because all he got out of it was a trip to the Cambridge jail.
But Obama, who earned his stripes in Chicago as a community organizer, which also entails race baiting (the class warfare aspect doesn't come into play as Gates earns considerably more than Sgt Crowley), had to comment on the situation. Even though by the time Obama was first asked about it the charges against Gates had been dropped he just couldn't help himself, decades of this response against the police naturally surfaced and even though he freely admitted he did not know the facts he accused the police of acting stupidly. Then a few hours later talked about what a great cop Crowley is.

And from that moment on the previous 59 minutes of lies and platitudes concerning nationalized health care were forgotten by the few people watching the press conference. Obama, like Gates, reverted to form and reacted as they knew how, by ratcheting up racial tensions, not trying to resolve them.

So in order to try to save face and prevent Sgt Crowley from suing Professor Gates, or just hope everyone looks at the staged pictures of the three men smiling in the pre-event photo op, Obama called the Beer Summit.

My prediction for what will be accomplished?

Nothing.

Little of substance will be discussed because Gates thinks he is right, Obama is too arrogant to admit he is wrong, and Crowley is looking at a nice slander settlement to retire on so he will not want to say anything that could jeopardize his legal standing.

Instead the men will talk about nothing. Perhaps a neutral party has fed Obama with an exit strategy where they can say they admit tempers flared but that, somehow, all men will be found to be right... in their own way.

The only thing I am hopeful for is that after tomorrow's recanting of how the men exited the room arm in arm singing Kumbaya that it will be the last we will hear about it.

The leftard media and the constant spin trying to prove Obama and Gates reacted as they did because they "experienced" things as African Americans... and yet not mentioning one of the things Obama experienced was hundreds of dollars of parking tickets he had outstanding in Cambridge that he only paid when he announced his candidacy. Likewise the media is hiding that Sgt Crowley teaches racial sensitivity and how to avoid making decisions on racial lines at the police academy.

Shhhh... it's a secret!!!


OK, I admit the past two months or so have not seen me plugged into my usual online networks but I have not been in a monestary. I've written lots of blogs, some I've posted, most I've buried, including one on June 20th where I wondered what the media was trying to hide by still talking about the whole Letterman v Palin farce.

Well, apparently the media was occupying themselves, and their audiences, with positing that Letterman meant Bristol and not the 14 year old who was with Sarah got "knocked up" instead of telling the American people that the trial of the greatest government employed bribe taker since Bill Clinton had commenced.

On June 16 the United States of America began opening arguments in their seemingly airtight case against William Jefferson. Seems William Jefferson was caught with $90K but had taken over 400 thousand dollars and was demanding millions more to represent African nations in the House. (Coincidentally William Jefferson Clinton -no relation- took over $400K from the Chinese government.)

Today the US Attorney presented closing arguments in the case against the man Nancy Pelosi faithfully supported after getting caught with the $90K in his freezer.

The media is frighteningly silent on this. The First Amendment was designed to protect the free press from the government with one purpose in mind, so the press can keep the people informed about the actions of the government. If the media is failing to keep up their end of the bargain one could successfully argue that they have waived any First Amendment protection.

The media is supposed to keep the citizenry informed, not collude with the government.

July 4th


Remember that the 4th of July holiday is not about celebrating the fourth day of the seventh month… it is to commemorate the day in 1776 when the country’s founding fathers stood up to tyranny and oppression.

The document they wrote, specifically one line became the central theme of a series of secessions from colonial rule. That line?


“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness--”

The document is a great clarion call to freedom. On this July 4th… our Independence Day… I encourage all to read the entire document. Remind yourselves of the values on which our country was founded.

I also challenge you to see if we have been good stewards of this mantle of freedom, or if we have allowed ourselves to come once again under the yoke of oppression, albeit a voluntary oppression enforced with velvet fist.

Granted, we have sacrificed much over the previous two centuries fighting oppression elsewhere in the world, shedding America blood and American tears so that others may enjoy the freedom and libeerty we consider to be essential and inalienable. But over those two centuries we have been slowly giving our liberty up to the government… exchanging our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, among other inalienable rights, for collections of government endowed permissions and privileges.

In the spirit of liberty and freedom from tyranny I invite everyone to, after reading the Declaration of Independence and perhaps even the Constitution, to see if there is a TEA Party scheduled for a location near you this July 4th and lend your presence to this movement to remind government they serve at our pleasure, not vice versa.

I will be at the Morristown TEA party between 11am and 1 pm, I hope to see you there.
NOTE: the TEA Parties are not about Democrat vs. Republican, Conservatives Vs. Liberals or anything as petty as partisan politics... they are about being Americans.

White House Press Corps get their collective panties in a knot

The attached video shows the White House Press Corps grilling Robert Gibbs and for the first time since January 21 are baring their teeth. On the serive it appears the issue at hand is the White House's staging of their media events, particularly the town hall events where the questions are "submitted" beforehand and answered by B. Hussein, making it a press conference more than a Town Hall. Even the troll-like matriarch of the Press Corps, über-lib Helen Thomas throws down against Gibbs.

Of course the real issue is not that the Press Corps is angered by this practice... it has always been the case, White House policy briefings are always carefully orchestrated. What has gotten their panties twisted so hard is that the White House gave a blogger from HuffPo a special pass to enter the briefing room and ask a question the administration fed to him. And it is not the question being fed to them that upsets them, for that is also White House standard operating procedures... it is that the administration gave equal access to a little known blogger and permitted him to enter their domain without having earned his journalistic stripes.

So while it looks on the surface that the press corps is delivering a "we made you and we can break you" message to the administration, the truth is they were just using the staged and scripted health care reform "town hall" as an excuse to vent their outrage over a member of the "new media" being placed on the same level as the "old guard media".

NYS Democrats: Beneath contempt

In case you've fallen prey to the lame stream media trick of repeating opinion until it becomes fact and started to think that the NY State Assembly FUBAR was caused by Republicans watch this video until the end... it is short.

The Republican half of the Assembly tried to call order and say the pledge but the Demonrats refused to stand while the Pledge was being spoken.




I give them full credit for not wanting to participate in the meeting (while being paid to be there) but not standing during the Pledge of Allegiance is an act beneath contempt.

I'd be lying to say I'm not envious of New York... while their legislature is at a self imposed standstill they can't be like NJ to raise taxes every time they meet.
