So NOW where is the outrage?

Barely three weeks ago the House, Senate and White House were in an outrage. Mad as hell and they weren't going to take it anymore.

AIG, the insurance company that insured the sub prime derivatives so the banks would be able to share the risk of the bad loans CONgress forced them to write, paid a total of $165 million in retention bonuses and deferred compensation to some of its key employees and executives. Many of these were fund managers who were paid a paltry salary and the "bonus" was deferred compensation.

Well as is typical in Washington, there was a late Friday afternoon announcement by the regulator overseeing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that they were planning on dispensing $210 million in retention bonuses.

Where is the outrage? Where are the congressmen calling Fannie and Freddie irresponsible? Where are the state Attorney Generals threatening to disclose names of private citizens? Where is the emergency legislation taxing the recipients 90%?

I am of course being sarcastic. This announcement was deliberately timed, not just to be a Friday afternoon release, but in an ultimate act of Beltway non-disclosure, it happened after business on a Friday when congress was in recess and as a special bonus, Resident Obama was out of the country.

I said at the time that the 300+ house members that voted for the legislation targeting private citizens should be taken from the Capitol building and shot. I was not being sarcastic. Such direct abuse of legislative powers cannot, and should not be tolerated.

I previously mentioned that Andrew Cuomo, NY State Attorney General, who threatened to disclose the names and addresses of private citizens whose only "crime" was going working for a company that accepted a bailout under TARP. He, and Richard Blumenthal the AG of Connecticut, should be investigated by the federal government for abuse of power and imprisoned for 20 years each. This is not simple malfeasance (which it is) they have used the power of their office to terrorize private citizens, publicly maligned innocent citizens, and of course, they have committed extortion... and because Cuomo has used these tactics in the past to shake down corporations RICO charges could be brought against him. Now that I think about it maybe 20 years isn't enough.

Members of the Democrat party created the faux AIG scandal, and their stooges in the Lame Stream Media were only too happy to help tell people how outraged they felt. It helped stoke the fires of class warfare that the statists will need to help implement their programs that will ensure nationwide poverty never before experienced in order to ensure a reliance upon the state for every basic need.

But since Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are instrumental in the CRA program of mandating loans so people who can't afford to buy houses can do so don;t expect Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Chris Dodd or Resident Obama to say anything resembling the AIG outrage they told you that you felt. This time I predict they will tell you that the bonuses are necessary that it is different circumstance than AIG. The only thing different is the name of the companies.
